Thank you I will try this in the morning. I can see I did not realize I was not reading the data when I requested it.John Doe– John Doe2015-11-23 03:16:57 +00:00Commented Nov 23, 2015 at 3:16

Sorry, it did not work... I am now getting something in the range of 0-256, only positive values, and they vary widely. I've seen 92 as minimum and 230 as maximum. I modified your code || I2c.read(dev_address, address, num) // request 6 bytes from device || --> || I2c.read(address, (byte) num); // request 6 bytes from device || and it compiled.John Doe– John Doe2015-11-23 18:28:57 +00:00Commented Nov 23, 2015 at 18:28

*This is while it is lying on the table. Left to run for about a minutes. The code in general prints to serial about 7Hz as tested a week ago.John Doe– John Doe2015-11-23 18:52:20 +00:00Commented Nov 23, 2015 at 18:52

@JohnDoe I managed to get an adlx345 for testing communication and all went fine apparently. Look at updated code for the read with the forced casts. However, I really advise you that this can result in many mistakes. I couldn't find any documentation for the I2C library you are suggesting.brtiberio– brtiberio2015-11-23 22:08:36 +00:00Commented Nov 23, 2015 at 22:08

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. arduino-uno), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
