Oct 1, 2016 at 15:27 comment added TonyG I am also under the impression that if one data in will control the entire array of led's it should be connected to D13?I am unsure if that is correct since I was under the impression that each pin on the Arduino can be assigned to do a wide range of things based on the code?
Oct 1, 2016 at 15:23 comment added TonyG I could run the wire to each strip in a chain but the wire will do an entire loop around the multirotor so that will be a hassle.I can do the strips in pairs of two and just use 4 instead of five.I read the link and from what I came to understand is if I wire all the strips together even though they aren't in a chain just wire the data in pin together they will all act in the same manner according to the code used? That will be just fine if that is how they will work?IWould it be wiser to just wire the power side of the leds directly to the regulator and not use the Arduino for power at all.
Oct 1, 2016 at 15:21 comment added TonyG Thank you for that link.I wish I would have found that before posting. You guys and gals must be sick of new users asking the same questions over and over. The project I am in the process of trying to understand and put together has been done a million times and there are tons of videos but they never seem to go into the wiring or provide a schematic. The led strips I will be using can be wired in a chain but that will really complicate the project a bit because the strips are placed at the 10 2 4 6 and 8 oclock positions on a clock and they are on each arm of a multi rotor.
