@AnnonomusPerson Looks like the person who posted what I did before removed their comment, so this is the where I got the things needed (Arduino IDE files and programming schematic) to program the ATTiny. highlowtech.org/?p=1695

Why use surface mount? Soldering through-hole at home is much easier? I think SMD is only for production runs, or is there something else to it?
