What do you mean by that? mDNS is a way to give your device a name without having a dedicated DNS server. That way you can set the name of each device on the device itself. The client can then refer to this name of the device.chrisl– chrisl2022-08-11 13:05:45 +00:00Commented Aug 11, 2022 at 13:05

The other ESP32 also only does web requests, just like a webbrowser. mDNS just helps you to get the current IP address to the predefined name. Lets say Esp1 calls itself service1 and anounces that name through mDNS. Then Esp2 can ask mDNS for the IP address of service1 and then make a web request to that address. There should be examples and tutorials available onlinechrisl– chrisl2022-08-12 08:38:53 +00:00Commented Aug 12, 2022 at 8:38

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. arduino-uno), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
