Description
Float is a Time Magic spell in Final Fantasy V. It grants the float effect to one or all targets, which causes them to avoid all earth-elemental damage and floor traps.
Float is also an enemy ability that can be cast by Chrono Controller and Omniscient.
Obtained[]
Float can be found at Surgate Castle in a hidden passage. Otherwise, it can be bought in the Phantom Village for 300 gil.
Float can also be used by catching and releasing a Gaelicat or Poison Eagle.
Use[]
Float is a positive buff that can be used effectively against enemies dealing earth-elemental damage. Another great use for the ability is in dungeons with floor traps. Because it is not too costly to use, there is little harm to casting Float in these situations, though the player must remember to re-apply it after a character is KO'd.
One alternative to Float is Levisalve, a Mix ability used by combining Antidote and Maiden's Kiss, and acts as the Float spell.
