Lightning
Lightning is an
element in
Final Fantasy XII that is opposed to
Ice (rather than
Water , like most games in the
series ). Lightning-elemental damage is amplified by 20% in rainy
weather and in water terrain, such as
Garamsythe Waterway .
Abilities [ ] In addition, the Storm Staff and Cloud Staff increase the power of Lightning-elemental abilities by 50%.
The Lightning-affected gambits are "Foe: lightning-weak" and "Foe: lightning-vulnerable"; the latter triggers against any foe that does not outright absorb the element, even if the foe is immune to Lightning. In the original PlayStation 2 version, these gambits are only available to purchase from gambit shops after the party obtains the Treaty-Blade , "lightning-weak" costing 500 gil and "lightning-vulnerable" costing 250 gil. In the Zodiac versions, these gambits only cost 70 gil and are available to buy ever since the party escapes the Nalbina Dungeons .
