About ISOFT
ISOFT is the India Chapter of ACM SIGSOFT. It supports software engineering research and development by organising conferences, workshops, seminars, and lecture series for professionals, students, teachers, and researchers across India.
Mission
Software engineering is a critical discipline for the Indian IT industry and an active global research area. ISOFT’s mission is to strengthen the software engineering ecosystem in India by:
- Promoting high-quality research in software engineering and related areas.
- Creating forums for interaction between academia and industry.
- Enabling regular conferences, workshops, and lecture series so that professionals and researchers in India can benefit from the latest advances.
Activities
- ISEC – Innovations in Software Engineering Conference, ISOFT’s flagship annual conference hosted at institutions across India.
- SERI – Software Engineering Research in India update meetings highlighting SE research activity in India.
- Workshops and thematic meetings in specific areas such as compilers, programming languages, and software analytics.
- Lectures and tutorials by researchers and practitioners from India and abroad.

Join ISOFT
Membership in ISOFT is currently free for ACM members. By joining, you will be added to the ISOFT mailing list and receive announcements about conferences, workshops, and other activities associated with the chapter.
If you are already an ACM member, you can request ISOFT membership via the form on the Join ISOFT page. If you are not yet an ACM member, please consider joining ACM (for example via the ACM India site) and then completing the ISOFT membership form.
