Apr 14, 2014 at 19:13 comment added rolfl Mod One thing you say is especially true: too much responsibility for the mods to handle these situations ... the problem with flags is that mod-actions are binding, and you don't want mods making value-judgments on the merits of an answer which is a borderline good/bad thing. Mods are moderators, not domain experts.
