Flappy Bird

Flappy Bird Creator To Take Game Down Tomorrow

Success "ruined" his life.

UPDATE: Flappy Bird is no longer available to download in the iOS App Store, or on Google Play. If you have previously downloaded it, you can still flap to your wings' content.

ORIGINAL STORY: Dong Nguyen, creator of the surprise mobile mega-hit Flappy Bird, has stated on Twitter that he plans to remove his game from distribution tomorrow.
I am sorry 'Flappy Bird' users, 22 hours from now, I will take 'Flappy Bird' down. I cannot take this anymore.

— Dong Nguyen (@dongatory) February 8, 2014

According to his follow up tweets, there have been no legal actions taken against him for the alleged use of art assets from Super Mario Bros., and the decision is entirely personal. Said Nguyen in another tweet, "I can call 'Flappy Bird' is a success of mine. But it also ruins my simple life. So now I hate it." He went on to say that he plans on continuing to make games. Despite what we thought of it, Flappy Bird is reportedly making the Vietnam-based developer around $50,000 a day in ad revenue.
Vincent Ingenito is IGN's third newest recruit, and third biggest MOBA fan. He also doesn't suck at fighting games. To hear him nerd out about them and other games, follow him on Twitter.
