Now that you’ve read the background information, it’s time to examine some of the individuals who were interned or placed under surveillance during the First World War. In this section, we have selected five case studies for you to investigate. Each one will begin with a brief write-up on the person or family under study, followed by a collection of archival documents, which will give you greater insight into the experiences of individual alien enemies in Newfoundland and Labrador during the war.
