For browning and searing a range of foods, use the fry pan or covered fry pan. For stocks or large meals, the dutch oven has a wide bottom surface and generous size. Multi-Layer Base Delivers Optimal Heat

The stainless steel base on the bottom of the cookware encapsulates a thick-gauge aluminum core with copper disc to deliver optimal heat distribution, eliminate hot spots and prevent warping. The 10-piece set is compatible with all cooktops including induction.

Cooking with Stainless Steel Cookware

Oven safe – T-fal stainless steel cookware is designed to distribute heat quickly and evenly, preventing hot spots. Preheat your cooktop on low to moderate heat--high heat should only be used for boiling. For best results, keep the following in mind during cooking:

1. Preheat your pan before adding oil or butter.

2. Use 1 to 2 teaspoons of oil or butter to maximize browning and minimize sticking.

3. Overheating can cause brown or blue stains to appear. Food films, if not removed, will cause discoloration on the pan once it is reheated. Large amounts of iron content in your water may cause your pan to look rusty.

4. To keep small white dots or pits from forming in your pan, bring liquids to a boil or wait until food starts to cook before adding salt. Pitting does not interfere with cooking performance but can diminish the beauty of your pan's interior.

Beautiful set of cookware.
I love this set of T-Fal cookware. I have my kitchen decorated in stainless steel and copper, so these fit right in. They are surprisingly lightweight with a very smooth finish. I also love that the pots have measurements on the inside of each one. The handles are round and hollow and very easy on the hands, unlike my old stainless steel cookware set which has flat handles that can be uncomfortable when carrying something heavy. I like the handles on this set much better. This cookware comes with glass lids which also have a nice round stainless steel handle. I love the copper trim on the bottoms and around the hole in the handle. It really adds a touch of class and beauty to this set. This set includes an 8-inch Fry Pan, a 10.25-inch Covered Fry Pan, a 1-quart Covered Saucepan, a 2-quart Covered Saucepan, a 5-quart covered dutch oven and a 5-quart steamer insert, and is compatible with all cooking methods which is nice. We've been talking about trying one of the induction cooktops, so it's nice to know I have the cookware I need when we get our induction top. We haven't decided on which one to get yet. This cookware can be safely used in heat up to 500 degrees. We decided to throw out all of our Teflon cookware because of health concerns, and now we only cook on cast iron or stainless steel. People think stainless steel cookware would be hard to clean, but it's not. It's actually pretty easy to clean, and easy to cook on once you get the hang of it. Now I just need to get my induction cooktop and really see what I can do. I love this set and it's going to look great hanging on my copper pot rack in my kitchen. My only gripe is because of the difficult to remove stickers that they put on the bottom of the pans. Why do they do that?

    We received a set of T-fal cookware for our wedding 21 years ago. We are still using that set. I've been wanting to go from Teflon coated to plan stainless steel for some time, so I bought this one last week on sale. I used the small pan to make some instant gravy and forgot to "stir continuously" which left me in horror thinking I just left a burn mark on the inside of the pan. Nope. After some stirring, it didn't even stick to the bottom. Good pan.

    I have one other stainless steel pan (when you cook big meals, three pans isn't close to enough) that is another brand, and it has "oil canned" on the bottom, which prevents it from being usable on flat glass-top electric stoves. I'm happy to toss that thing, and I'm looking forward to seeing how well the thicker bottoms of these T-fal pans hold up.

    I would give 4.5 starts, if it were possible. My 1/2 star demotion is because we are going to need to buy a larger sized medium pan. These set come with a small, medium, and large pan. The medium sized pan from our old T-fal set is larger than the one in this set. A bit of a let down, but not enough to warrant a full star.

    Overall, we are pleased with the set. I look forward to fully testing them and look forward to using the steamer.

    At first it was frustrating cooking with the pans. Once I saw a video on properly seasoning the pans (really wish T-Fal would give proper instructions on this), it made cooking and cleaning an ease. All food cooks evenly and delicious.

    I was sick of the pots and pans that I had and needed a new sturdy set that wasn't too expensive to fit my budget. The pots and pans in this set come with the copper bottom and the cooking is much more even than my old all-stainless steel sets. It's a great buy for the price!

    Got them on lightening deal and they are very nice. My old set the dutch oven was a touch bigger and I kinda miss it but other than that this set replaced my 25 year old farberware nicely. Nice solid feeling bottoms. Lids are nice (be careful though because hot water can drip out the steam hole from it condensing on the cover, and burn you as my husband found out when he was holding the inverted cover over the stove while stirring.

    Awesome set, wife is very happy. This is not for hard-core frying though, more like simmering. Medium flame should be the largest setting with this set.

    Beware--very strong labels on the bottoms of each piece--very difficult to remove

    So far, I can't use any of them, as each piece has a small label on the bottom which does not peel or wash off. I can't leave them on because it would damage my cooktop. The instructions say to first remove all labels and then wash before use. If I have to go out and buy a special product to remove the labels, then spend the time scrubbing all the labels off, these will never get used.

    Update: I contacted the seller, and all they did was give me a link to very labor-intensive removal of labels--and this smaller set had 6 labels to be removed! My husband finally bit the bullet and spent about 45 minutes with a heat gun and some goo-gone type remover, and they finally came off. This is a ridiculous waste of time to just be able to get to the point where you can begin using pots and pans! So I still haven't used them, as they are soaking to remove the goo-gone.
