When it comes to online dating, people are so busy matching that they’re not actually connecting, in person, where it counts. Hinge is on a mission to change that. So we built an app that’s designed to be deleted. Here’s how:
* We quickly learn your type. You’ll only be introduced to the best people for you.
* We give you a sense of someone’s personality. You’ll get to know potential dates through their unique answers to prompts, as well as information like religion, height, politics, dating intentions, relationship type, and much more.
* We make it easy to start a conversation. Every match begins by someone liking or commenting on a specific part of your profile.
* We want you to feel confident about meeting people in person. Selfie Verification makes it easier for daters on Hinge to ensure that they are who they say they are.
* We ask how your dates are going. After exchanging phone numbers with a Match, we’ll follow up to hear how your date went so we can make better recommendations in the future.
The app is free to use. Members looking to see everyone who likes them or send unlimited likes can upgrade to Hinge+. To access additional features, including enhanced recommendations and priority likes, we offer HingeX.

Pretty good app, could do with some tweaks

I like Hinge.The app works well, it’s intuitive and effective. It has the same pitfalls as any dating app, though somewhat less so and its design is a lot less jarring and screamy as the alternatives - this is the main reason I like it.What I don’t like about Hinge is less to do with the app and more to do with the female talent pool. I can’t hold it against the developers that alcohol, consumerism and unhealthy attachment styles are so prevalent in NZ, but it does make the experience a bit frustrating.I have two issues with the app itself:- there is nowhere to offer feedback in the app and I couldn’t find anywhere on the website to do so either, without making a complaint. That’s why I’m writing this review.- there is no way to have my location detected automatically. I live on a boat and don’t stay put for more than a few days. I often remain in one port for weeks or months, but my suburb depends largely on the weather and where there is safe shelter. This means that I have to update my suburb every time I move locations unless I want my location to be inaccurate. I’d rather the location field worked more like Tinder, in that it shows where I am as opposed to where I set it. The fact that it even tells me I need to “find land” to set a location makes it even more inapplicable to my situation. Perhaps having an option to set my location to “nomadic”, or “maritime”, would help. I use the app to meet new people in the places I go, where I often don’t know anyone, so this is a feature of the app that I find dysfunctional.If my second issue were addressed effectively, I’d rate it 5 stars - it’s an otherwise excellent app and a good platform for finding connection with likeminded people whom I might otherwise never meet.✌️
Best dating app ever( A bitter sweet feeling)

So i was new to this dating app thing, i used hinge for about two months, had the best experience ever , went on a few dates too, I’ve gained a lot of self confidence in the mean time, was talking to a few special people but all of a sudden i was banned from the app. I wish they gave me an explanation as to why i was banned. Ive been told that the decision is final and ive now come to terms with the fact that i may never get back on hinge. To all the people out there , HINGE IS THE BEST DATING APP THERE IS I wish i could get back on this app but it is what it is , guess ill be single for the rest of my life because its so hard to meet people outside in real life. So its kind of bitter sweet feeling, i had the best time of my life but at the same time i will never get to experience it again.

Not long ago these apps would give you a decent head start at finding someone, you’d set the up up and usually you’d get the likes trickle in or you'd sift through a sea of uninteresting profiles. I downloaded this app and expected some sort of traction, I used good photos, whitty captions and nothing. Crickets. Then I remembered, I’m 37 and male! I’m the exact person they want paying for this trash. So I did, still crickets, not a single like, let alone a match yet. However everywhere I looked I saw Hinge X prompts “boost your profile” “be seen by more people” and I though hmmm this makes sense now. Long and the short if you’re male 35 and up, expect to pay for this garbage.
We made performance improvements which means you may end up deleting our app even sooner than you intended.
