Anti-ICE Protests in Kalamazoo, Michigan

Description: In January 2026, many members of the Kalamazoo County community gathered to protest the ICE raids happening in the United States, particularly following the death of Alex Pretti on January 26th at the hands of ICE agents. These protests were organized by various political and non-profit groups in the area, including Indivisible and Kzoo County Dems. Websites archived in this collection will only archive public organizations and news articles. However, private citizens may have still been captured and preserved through this web archiving project. Description: This collection covers some online resources, websites, and webpages on cowboy and vaquero history and culture focusing on the contributions of historically marginalized individuals. This collection highlights communities that may identify as Black/African-American, Indigenous, Asian/Asian-American, Mexican/Mexican-American, and Latine/Latine-American. The collection will include webpages from institutions and articles of past exhibitions, web material that shows documentation of these communities participating in cowboy aesthetics and practices including individuals and organizations. The purpose of this collection is for the collector’s admiration and interest in cowboy and vaquero history and recognizing the contributions of historically marginalized communities, in the hopes to highlight any lost history and current organizations or individuals making a positive difference in bringing the history and culture forward. While this collection is originally intended for the collector’s research and educational purposes, this collection can be used for anyone interest in the topics of cowboys, including but not limited to, historians, artists, educators, cowboys, cowboy and vaquero enthusiasts. Crochet and Knitting Blogs

Description: Traditionally, crochet and knitting patterns were shared verbally and visually, with designs copied from the original works. The earliest printed crochet patterns were published in 1824. The first printed knitting patterns were also published mid-19th century, as the craft become a popular hobby. By the 20th century, magazines and books were the main method of dissemination for patterns. Today, patterns and techniques are shared primarily online—through communities on Ravelry and Reddit as well as independent blogs. Many artists and makers use blogs to post their work, share tips, share their free pattern designs, and sell pattern designs. The way crochet and knitting techniques and patterns have been shared has evolved over the centuries, and the way patterns are shared today have as much archival value as printed patterns from the 19th and 20th centuries. Thus, this collection seeks to archive free patterns posted on independent crochet and knitting blogs. This collection is intended to be used by those with an interest in fiber arts, either as creators or historians and researchers. The collection can be used to find discover new patterns and techniques as well as examine how people share patterns as a cultural and historical record, for these sites show how artists and hobbyists in the 21st century have engaged in fiber arts and created communities online.

Darke County Public Libraries

Description: This collection preserves the digital presence of public libraries in Darke County, Ohio. This body of work captures the information provided on their websites, catalogs, and digital outreach platforms. The libraries represented are Arcanum, Greenville, New Madison, Bradford, and Worch Memorial. All of these libraries predominantly serve rural communities and function as a central community gathering hub. Their digital presence showcases a wide range of services, a few examples of this being youth programming, local history, technology access, community partnerships, and public events. These records hold the websites of the institutions themselves, along with a few YouTube videos. These videos highlight how libraries work to extend their reach. Storytime videos, tutorial videos, and program highlights demonstrate the importance of engaging with patrons online, especially for caregivers, families, and patrons who cannot always attend. Including online catalogs from Bibliocommons, local systems, and COOL documents library holdings, catalog systems, and regional collaboration networks. Preserving these materials provides long-term access to documentation of how public libraries adapt to technological change, sustain local cultural memory, and maintain community connections. Because of the frequent update nature of the websites, the historical versions are not preserved. Therefore, events, newsletters, or programming are susceptible to loss of institutional memory or content drift. This collection gives researchers, community members, and future librarians a clear record of how rural information systems, public service models, and the library's role in community life have changed over time.

Deltarune "Spamton Sweepstakes" Collection

Description: Deltarune is an indie game developed by artist Toby Fox following the success of his previous game Undertale. The game is being released on a chapter-by-chapter basis, with chapters 1-4 currently available. On September 18, 2022, Toby Fox partnered with entertainer Wayneradiotv, merchandiser Fangamer, and charity Child’s Play, to present an interactive special called the “Spamton Sweepstakes”. The event was highlighted by a fundraising livestream, while also creating a 90s-early 2000s inspired ARG (alternate reality game). An ARG is essentially a web project consisting of puzzles and multimedia storytelling, in this case portrayed through the game’s website. The user follows the story through different links, codes added to URLs, and puzzles, creating a unique experience according to the individual user. Some ARGs use time sensitive elements, however this project is possible to capture for users to repeat the process or experience it for the first time. The Deltarune “Spamton Sweepstakes” Collection consists of 37 seeds, including the original event’s page, community discussions, the original livestream, inspirations, and secret pages. This collection is intended to preserve the experience as it ties into the game’s storyline, as well as serve as inspiration for other multimedia projects. Much of the “Spamton Sweepstakes” relies on video, audio, and animations to give insights into the later game, as well as overall lore. Therefore, it is important to preserve all the individual elements and their hosts. Furthermore, it is possible these elements may update again or deteriorate, so it will be necessary to maintain this collection with periodical crawling. Currently, the project is considered finished, so monthly or fewer crawling is recommended.

Fishing is typically a solitary sport along the small waterways in the United States, but there is something about it that makes people happy, and that is understandable. Many believe that the relationship between fishing and social media is detrimental as it allows multiple people to be exposed to fishing locations that would, earlier in time, been visited by families or friends of families that knew about the locations. The collection will focus on that, but it will also place a heavy focus on the visual enjoyment of people catching fish in these spots that are deemed local. This collection could be used by anyone looking for access to new fishing spots or anyone looking to study the sport of fishing.
