  • Memtest86+ supports UEFI these days? Commented Dec 26, 2022 at 21:50
  • @rogerdpack, Thanks for the heads up :-) According to its website, it seems Memtest86 version 6 works in UEFI mode, at least when secure boot is turned off. I will check it, and after that modify my answer. Commented Dec 27, 2022 at 10:37

usb stick with ubuntu-22.04.3-desktop-amd64.iso didn't show the memtest menu item even when secure boot was turned off, I had to make a usb stick with memtest86+ 6.2 image and that one worked Commented Sep 22, 2023 at 10:45

This answer gets a pass, and so do I. @CharonME I'm using an even later Ubuntu and I do get the menu, but I need to go to boot in legacy mode. So this is machine dependent in case you correctly followed instructions, not dependent on Ubuntu / version. Commented Oct 16, 2024 at 23:55
