BuildUp

A chapter closes for BuildUp, but beSteel Light steel framing keeps moving forward. 🏗️ After several months of reflection, BuildUp has decided to cease its operations, closing an important chapter in offsite construction. This marks the end of a journey that began in 2021, driven by a strong conviction: the construction sector must radically transform to become more frugal, more precise, and more circular. To promote this bold industrial model, we took risks — but we were unfortunately unable to overcome all the challenges we faced, particularly those linked to rapid growth, perhaps too rapid. While the BuildUp brand fades today, the innovation we championed continues to move forward. beSteel carries on. 🤝 We are very pleased to announce that the assets of beSteel (founded in 2015) have been transferred to the company SWEELCO - ossature métallique légère, created and led by Damien Muller and Pierre Rougeulle. This transfer allows beSteel's historic expertise to endure and find new momentum. By joining Sweelco, beSteel becomes part of a structured and ambitious industrial project built around a shared mission: to design and produce every day "light & smart" constructive solutions. Thank you to all those without whom this adventure would not have been possible: ✨ Hélène de Troostembergh, the driving force and face of BuildUp and beSteel. Her determination, vision, and unwavering commitment — right up to the closing of this chapter — deserve special recognition. 🤝 The BESIX Group and the de Troostembergh family, for their constructive collaboration and their support in the face of the challenges of innovation. 🙏 Our teams, who gave all their energy and talent to this extraordinary adventure. beSteel's historic expertise is now in good hands, at Sweelco, to continue carrying high the ambition of "Reconstructing Construction for Good." 👉 Stay up to date with our next steps: follow the SWEELCO - ossature métallique légère page now: https://lnkd.in/eTkCw_8h #BuildUp #BeSteel #Sweelco #OffsiteConstruction #Innovation #Transfer #Industry #LGS #Offsite

🔋 World Energy Day, a yearly reminder that the way we build… matters. In Europe, buildings account for nearly 40% of total energy consumption. That’s not just a statistic, it’s a call to action. At BuildUp, we believe energy efficiency starts at the very first sketch: 🏗️ With prefabricated systems designed to reduce energy loss 🏠 With better-insulated envelopes that lower heating and cooling needs ♻️ With construction methods that consume less, waste less, and last longer We’re not just building structures, we’re are looking for a low-energy future. #WorldEnergyDay #EnergyEfficiency #SustainableConstruction

Have you been following? 👀 Since September 18, Beyond Bauhaus officially launched. 💡 Beyond Bauhaus is an open movement inspired by the Bauhaus spirit bringing together CIRCL, Bao Living, BuildUp, and Litobox® BV (for now 😉) around one shared goal: ▪️ to make construction simpler, smarter, and more circular. At BuildUp, we’re proud to be part of this journey, proving every day that building differently is not only possible, but essential. 👇 If you haven’t yet, go check out and follow the movement here: Beyond Bauhaus on LinkedIn Let’s build differently together. 💪 #BeyondBauhaus #BuildUp #CircularConstruction #ModularBuilding #Innovation #LetsBuildBetter
