Great turnout last night at Career Night hosted by The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). Paul Cassar, PhD represented CTI Life Sciences Fund and the Venture Capital career path, connecting with graduate students exploring non-academic careers. The conversation highlighted how venture capital sits at the intersection of science, finance, intellectual property, and regulatory strategy — and how scientific training can translate into impact beyond the bench. The thoughtful questions and strong engagement made for energizing roundtable discussions. Proud to support the next generation of innovators as they explore diverse career paths. #VentureCapital #LifeSciences #CareerDevelopment

CTI Life Sciences Fund is proud to celebrate a major milestone for our portfolio company, Kainova Therapeutics. Kainova has successfully completed the first close of its $32M Series B financing, led by Investissement Québec and supported by existing investors, including CTI Life Sciences Fund. We’re particularly excited about the continued advancement of DT-7012, Kainova’s differentiated anti-CCR8 antibody designed to selectively deplete regulatory T cells (Tregs) within the tumor microenvironment. We believe this approach holds great promise for enhancing anti-tumor immune responses and represents an innovative strategy in immuno-oncology. DT-7012 is advancing though the ongoing Phase I/II DOMISOL trial in advanced solid tumors, an important step toward translating this science into meaningful clinical impact. Congratulations to the Kainova team on this achievement. #Biotech #LifeSciences #ImmunoOncology #CancerResearch #ClinicalDevelopment #VentureCapital #PortfolioCompany Full announcement: https://lnkd.in/gnxQvtrV

We’re thrilled to congratulate Thryv Therapeutics Inc., a CTI Life Sciences Fund portfolio company, on the initiation of the pivotal Wave II Phase 2/3 study evaluating THRV-1268, an oral SGK1 inhibitor, in adults with Long QT Syndrome Type 2 — a significant step forward in addressing an unmet need for patients living with this rare and potentially life-threatening genetic condition. Long QT Syndrome currently has no approved disease-modifying therapies, and launching a late-stage clinical program informed by strong early signals of QT shortening marks a noteworthy advancement in precision cardiology research and innovation. https://lnkd.in/g_6tC9Hm
