🚢 A major milestone for our U.S. flagship This week saw MSC World Atlantic begin the next and final stages of construction as she floated out for the first time at Chantiers de l'Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire. A float out is one of the defining moments in a ship’s construction where the newly built vessel is moved from the construction dock into the water, and a proud milestone for everyone involved in bringing the ship to life. Set to become the 25th ship in the MSC Cruises fleet and the fourth LNG-powered vessel in our World Class series, MSC World Atlantic reflects our continued investment in innovation and the future of our fleet. Designed to blend MSC Cruises' signature European style with American comfort, MSC World Atlantic will sail from Port Canaveral, Florida, from November 2027. 🔗 Discover more in the press release: https://lnkd.in/etB8Vuei #MSCCruises #MSCWorldAtlantic

🌴 A new chapter for our private islands in The Bahamas. Today, we marked a major milestone for Sandy Cay, our new private island destination in The Bahamas, with the official groundbreaking ceremony. Construction and site works are now underway, bringing us one step closer to opening the destination in 2028 for guests of MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys. Located next to Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Sandy Cay will offer a more intimate island experience, with five beaches, crystal-clear waters, spaces to relax and unwind, and a strong focus on wellness and the natural surroundings. The ceremony brought together colleagues, government officials from The Bahamas and project partners to mark this important milestone and our continued investment in the country. Together with Ocean Cay, Sandy Cay will give guests another way to experience the beauty of The Bahamas, and we can’t wait to see it come to life. #MSCCruises #SandyCay

🌊 Shifting the focus on tourist destination management This week, Seatrade Cruise Med brought together cruise lines, ports, destinations and policymakers in Las Palmas in the Canary Islands to discuss how the industry can create long-term value for destinations and the communities that call them home. Across the discussions, a clear message emerged: success is no longer measured by growth alone and the future will be shaped by how we work together to create long-term value for destinations, communities and travellers through planning, partnership, infrastructure investment and well-planned tourism. We were proud to be part of these conversations on stage, with colleagues from MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys contributing to sessions covering how collaboration, infrastructure investment, well-planned tourism and authentic destination experiences can help strengthen destinations and support local communities while enhancing the guest experience. The event was also an opportunity to share what’s ahead for our guests. We announced that MSC Euribia will offer seven-night Canary Islands and Madeira itineraries during the 2027–28 winter season, visiting six destinations across the Atlantic islands. We were also delighted to see our partnership with ORCA recognised as a finalist for Sustainability Initiative of the Year at the Seatrade Cruise Awards. Thank you to Seatrade Cruise Med and to all the industry partners, ports and destinations who contributed to the conversation. #MSCCruises #SeatradeCruiseMed

⚓ Meet the Captain of MSC World Asia. As MSC World Asia reaches the final stages of her construction, the hard work is only just beginning for the ship’s new Captain. For Captain Paolo Benini, taking command of MSC World Asia will mark a special milestone in his career. After 20 years as a Captain, she will be the first newbuild he has been appointed to lead. His experience with the ship began in Saint-Nazaire, where Captain Benini joined her initial sea trials and took part in the tests of her engines, propulsion and technical equipment on the Bridge. Now, as MSC World Asia moves closer to joining the fleet, the excitement is building for the moment he will officially take command and lead her out of the shipyard for the first time. “I’m proud to know that, in just a few months, I will be in command of this beautiful ship.” For Captain Benini, there is not just the excitement of leading the latest ship in the MSC Cruises’ fleet he has one extra special thing to look forward to. “After the naming ceremony and when the first guests arrive on board, I will have the honour of taking the ship to Genoa, my hometown for the first time.” Waiting for him, will be one very excited young boy and a very impressed teacher. “The first time I informed my family, I told my son and showed him a picture of MSC World Asia, and asked him, “do you like it”? He was amazed and said it was beautiful. I told him that I would probably take command of the ship, and asked him to keep it secret, just between us. But then the first person he told was his teacher at school.” MSC World Asia is getting closer to the moment she will begin her journey, and we can’t wait to welcome her to the fleet. #MSCCruises #MSCWorldAsia

🚢 MSC World Asia completes her final sea trials. The successful trials, held in the Atlantic Ocean off the west coast of France, mark another important milestone on the way to her delivery. Following her first sea trials in July, the final trials tested her engines, manoeuvrability, fuel efficiency, safety systems, speed and stopping distances, confirming the ship’s readiness as she moves into the final phase of completion. Now, MSC World Asia returns to Chantiers de l'Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire for her final finishing touches ahead of delivery on 25 November. From there, the countdown continues: her official naming ceremony will take place in Le Havre on 28 November, before she sets sail from Barcelona on 4 December for her inaugural seven-night Mediterranean voyage.
