I am not in high school. Honestly, I think we need to perform the experiment, observing how the first two or three students interact with the project. There will be lessons learned from that experience, that will allow refining the codebase to make things easier or more engaging for a subsequent cohort of students.

Qualifying participants with a simple prerequisite python project, less ambitious than this one, might be helpful, as would steering students toward specific OS platforms / environments that have been well tested.
