Shoosuvas are hyena-like demons.
Appearance[]
A shoosuva is a ten-foot-long skeletal creature, somewhat catlike and somewhat doglike, with large spined protrusions along its back and a long, scorpion-like tail with a foot-long hooked stinger at the end.[1]
Abilities[]
The following is drawn from Volo's Guide to Monsters,[2] but some abilities are demonstrated onstream.
- Condition Immunities: Charmed, frightened, poisoned
- Damage Immunities: Poison
- Damage Resistances: Cold, fire, lightning, bludgeoning/piercing/slashing from nonmagical weapons
- Rampage: If the shoosuva's melee attack reduces a creature to 0 hit points, the shoosuva can use a bonus action to move up to half its speed and make an additional bite attack.[3]
- Tail Stinger: An attack that, on a hit, forces the target to make a Constitution check or become poisoned and paralyzed.[4]
Known shoosuvas[]
The Mighty Nein defeated three shoosuvas who had slipped through a rift from the Abyss to the space under Zorth's livery.[5] These rifts were caused by Abyssal anchors that had been placed by members of the Angel of Irons cult.
