Can we certify wind turbine converters faster, without being dependent on weather, field availability, or complex mechanical test benches? 💨⚡ As part of the VirTuOS project, we are redefining converter validation together with several research institutes of the Center for Wind Power Drives (CWD) at RWTH Aachen University. The project is sponsored by dSPACE and FGH Zertifizierungsgesellschaft mbH and funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE). Together, we've built a power HIL test bench that emulates the electric behavior of a wind turbine generator as well as the power grid at full load in real time. With 96 DS5386 high-voltage electronic load modules, the system supports up to 1.84 MW, 1,250 V, and 1,200 A per phase, enabling complex scenarios such as fault ride-through with full repeatability and no dependence on physical grid or wind conditions. 👉 Read the full use case to learn more: https://ow.ly/sGpi50Yka4r #dSPACE #Energy #PowerElectronics #PowerHIL

🚀 𝗔𝗦𝗔𝗠 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝟯𝗗 – 𝗱𝗦𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗘 𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿! In our ongoing spotlight series, we’re sharing expert insights from across the mobility ecosystem about why ASAM #OpenMATERIAL 3D is essential for realistic, reliable sensor simulation. Previous videos have already highlighted different industry perspectives: 🔹 Persival GmbH elster explained how standardized 3D assets with physical material properties improve credibility and tool integration in sensor simulation. (watch video: https://lnkd.in/d5eSUyxc) 🔹 BMW Group shared the OEM perspective, emphasizing how standardization enables consistent use of 3D environments across partners and large-scale automated driving validation. (watch video: https://lnkd.in/dspUmviW) Today, we are hearing from dSPACE, a leading partner for sensor simulation in the automotive industry and beyond. dSPACE calculates realistic sensor data for virtual environments to validate perceptions and driving functionalities. 🔹 Virtual environments need 𝗽𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 that their sensor models (LiDAR, radar, or ultrasonic) can respond to. 🔹 ASAM OpenMATERIAL 3D offers a standardized way to enrich 3D environments with the required properties, and enables these environments to be used across different tools and vendors. Generating realistic 3D environments is complex and expensive - wider adoption of ASAM OpenMATERIAL 3D is key to making these complex environments accessible to the entire industry. ------------ 📹 Watch the video and hear the dSPACE perspective: https://lnkd.in/dSUwyua8 👉 Download ASAM OpenMATERIAL 3D free of charge: https://lnkd.in/dkaY88Ka ----------- We thank Matthias Thurau (dSPACE SE & Co. KG) for sharing this perspective! We also thank Dr. Lukas Elster (Persival GmbH) and Dr.-Ing. Ludwig Friedmann (BMW Group) for their insights on why ASAM OpenMATERIAL 3D is important, shared in previous videos. #ASAM #iLoveStandards #Simulation #SensorSimulation #DigitalTwins #Standards #Interoperability #Automotive #Mobility

It’s no longer a big secret: When developing ECUs, you do not always need hardware to start finding bugs. With virtual ECUs (V-ECU) and a software‑in‑the‑loop (SIL) tool chain, you can validate ECU software long before the first prototype exists. In our new blog article, SIL specialist Jane Jose Oppermann explains how V‑ECUs help you shift validation left and keep growing software complexity under control. With dSPACE solutions for V‑ECU generation and SIL testing, you can: ✅ Start integration and functional tests months before hardware is available ✅ Reuse models, configurations, and test cases from MIL to SIL to HIL ✅ Scale automated regression testing without competing for bench time and much more Curious how this works in practice? Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/dUWbafxT What role does SIL play in your development workflow? We are curious to learn from your experiences. 💭 #SILtesting #VECU #AutomotiveSoftware #ECUdevelopment #dSPACE
