Role Description This full-time Multimedia Journalist (Dari language) role is a hybrid position based in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, with a combination of on-site work in Crailsheim and some work from home. The Multimedia Journalist will research, plan, and produce news and feature content in Dari, covering integration-related topics, community events, and public information from the city administration. Day-to-day tasks include conducting interviews, gathering statements from stakeholders, writing scripts and articles, and creating multimedia content suitable for broadcast, online platforms, and social media. The role involves filming and editing video segments, recording audio, and preparing content for broadcast television or digital channels, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and cultural sensitivity. The Multimedia Journalist will collaborate with colleagues, translators, and community partners to verify information, adapt content for different formats, and maintain consistent editorial standards.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Broadcast Journalism and Broadcasting to research, structure, and present news and public information in a clear, audience-focused manner.
• Experience with Multimedia production, including video and audio recording, basic editing, and preparing content for online and social media platforms.
• Knowledge of Broadcast Television workflows and standards, including working with scripts, segments, and technical teams as needed.
• Excellent Writing skills in Dari and good command of German or English for research, coordination, and internal communication.
• Relevant education in journalism, media studies, communications, or a related field, or comparable professional experience.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Strong intercultural communication skills, sensitivity to integration and migration topics, and familiarity with the local context in Germany.
• Basic technical proficiency with cameras, audio equipment, and editing software; willingness to learn new tools and workflows.
