Is your panel QO or Homeline? Also, does any load cause these AFCIs to trip, or are you getting trips on specific loads?ThreePhaseEel– ThreePhaseEel2017-09-05 22:25:00 +00:00Commented Sep 5, 2017 at 22:25

The panel is Homeline. I tried mainly with regular lights, but also a table lamp will trip. A very small load (a battery charger that has a green LED while not charging) did not trip the AFCI breakers.Ohio Enthusiast– Ohio Enthusiast2017-09-06 00:05:21 +00:00Commented Sep 6, 2017 at 0:05

What happens when you put a double pole AFCI on 4 and 6?ThreePhaseEel– ThreePhaseEel2017-09-06 00:06:51 +00:00Commented Sep 6, 2017 at 0:06

11968 someone might have tied a neutral and ground together - some people try to get around 'issues' by doing the wrong thing. Some houses in that day might not even have a ground wire run - so yuckle yokel wires the neutral to your ground. Check your neutrals and your panel ground bonding.Ken– Ken2017-09-06 00:10:35 +00:00Commented Sep 6, 2017 at 0:10

@ThreePhaseEel that I haven't checked yet. Will give it a try tomorrow. Ken updated the question with a photo of the panel and some more info.Ohio Enthusiast– Ohio Enthusiast2017-09-06 01:23:14 +00:00Commented Sep 6, 2017 at 1:23

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. electrical-panel), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
