   H پيڙا पीड़ा pīṛā (S. pīḍā), s.f. Pain, suffering, anguish; the pains of child-birth; sorrow, affliction, distress; wrong, harm, injury, oppression; disease, sickness, illness; — compassion, pity, sympathy, charity: — pīṛā-bodhak, adj. (in Gram.) Expressive of pain (as an intj. or exclamation): — pīṛā denā (-ko), To give pain (to); to afflict, oppress, harass; to vex, annoy; to harm, injure; — v.n. To give pain, to pain, ache: — pīṛā-kar, adj. Pain-causing, giving pain, afflicting, tormenting.
   H پيڙا पेड़ा peṛā [Prk. पेंडओ = S. पिण्डकः], s.m. A ball or lump of leavened dough; — a kind of sweetmeat (made of curds).
   H پيڙا पैड़ा paiṛā (from paiṛ = pair), s.m. High wooden pattens (syn. khaṛāʼoṅ); — the track or path of oxen (in drawing water, &c. = pair, q.v.).

   H پيڙنا पीड़ना pīṛnā [pīṛ˚ = Prk. पीड() = S. पीड(ते), rt. पीड्], v.n. To be pained, &c.; to pain, ache.
   H پيڙنا पेड़ना peṛnā (i.q. pelnā, q.v.), v.t. To press, squeeze, crush, grind; to rack.
   H پيڙو पेडू peṛū [S. पेट+उकः], s.m. The belly below the navel, the pubes; locus ubi exoritur pubes.
   H پيڙها पीढ़ा pīṛhā, pīḍhā [Prk. पीढओ; S. पीठकः], s.m. A large square stool (to sit on); stool, seat: — pīṛhā-bandh, s.m. Preface or introduction (to a book: cf. pīṭha).
   H پيڙهي पीढ़ी pīṛhī [Prk. पीढिआ; S. पीठिका], s.f. A small stool; seat, chair; — descent, extraction, pedigree; a race or generation of progenitors or descendants: — pīṛhī-pīṛhī, pīṛhī-dar-pīṛhī, adv. From generation to generation; generation after generation; from age to age ( = pusht-dar-pusht).
   H پيڙي पेड़ी peṛī (dim. of peṛā), s.f. A kind of sweetmeat ( = peṛā).
   H پيڙي पेड़ी peṛī (see peṛ), s.f. The trunk of a tree; stubble (from which a second crop is obtained); the indigo plant after being once cut; a kind of betel leaf; a rate paid by cultivators to zamīndārs for the use of fruit trees.
   H پيڙي पैड़ी paiṛī (dim. of paiṛ = pair), s.f. Ladder, stair-case, flight of steps, stairs; step or rung of a ladder; — the track or path of oxen (in drawing water, &c. = paiṛā; pair, q.v.).
