More importantly, I think there is an emotional content needed in the word you are looking for. Let's imagine that you are the person in power, and you are describing the feeling you had after encountering your "expert logic." Would you say, I felt "neutralized?" I don't think so... I'm finding this question surprisingly intriguing, though I am not satisfied with the top answers. | |

It's particularly apt in an adversarial situation where it's between you and him, and he expects to win. | |
