For those traveling, the Claremont Resort & Club is a 24-minute drive from Oakland International Airport and 45-minutes from San Francisco International Airport.

This invitation-only gathering will feature robust peer-to-peer sessions, an extended interactive simulation, and opportunities to create meaningful connections within the PEN group. We will kick off the event with a welcome dinner the evening of September 10 and then convene with your peers for a full day of content on September 11 and a half day of content on September 12.

*Access to this event is by special invitation only. If you have questions about the event, please reach out to the FPF Membership Team at [email protected]

Privacy Executives Breakout Sessions

Breakout Session 1: Building Cross-Jurisdictional AI Governance

Privacy and data protection executives are now facing the challenge of building AI governance that functions effectively across multiple regulatory frameworks. This session will explore practical approaches for harmonizing compliance across a growing number of legal frameworks such as the EU AI Act, US state laws, and other emerging global standards to allow for scalable and responsible AI deployment.

Breakout Session 2: Trends in Global Enforcement and Regulatory Approaches

As governments and international bodies race to establish legal frameworks for responsible AI development and deployment, enforcement strategies are becoming increasingly diverse and complex. Participants will discuss recent developments throughout the world including the EU AI Act, U.S. executive orders, China’s evolving AI regulations, updates to national  laws such as Korea’s PIPA, and multilateral efforts like the G7 Hiroshima AI Process. The session will examine how different jurisdictions are balancing innovation with risk mitigation, the role of cross-border collaboration in enforcement, and the impact of these evolving policies on businesses operating internationally.

Breakout Session 3: How to Effectively Lead Your Privacy Team

How do you balance between keeping a high-level strategic perspective and being able to get into technical details with your teams when needed? How do you balance working with peer executives and leading across teams, with the time you need to spend on unique challenges and ensuring individuals on your team are engaged and focused?

Privacy Executives Breakout Sessions

Breakout Session 1: Practical AI Deployment

Organizations that deploy and customize “off the shelf” AI tools and services must navigate unique governance challenges, including ensuring the protection of proprietary data used in fine-tuning, negotiating contractual responsibilities, and conducting robust risk assessment with sometimes limited information. In this breakout, we will explore best practices for stress-testing AI systems through red-teaming, managing vendor and partner contracts, and establishing internal controls that align with regulatory and ethical expectations. The session aims to foster open dialogue among our members to share lessons learned and develop practical strategies for deploying AI responsibly and effectively.

Breakout Session 2: International Data Transfers in 2025

This session will address the evolving landscape of international data transfers. As geopolitical tensions and national security considerations increasingly shape data governance, participants will examine regulatory developments such as recent U.S. executive orders on foreign access to data, and restrictions on outbound data flows. The discussion will also explore how the current status of the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework may be affected by recent changes in the U.S. and how organizations are navigating legal uncertainty, implementing data minimization and localization strategies, and managing cross-border compliance risks.

Breakout Session 3: Developing Your Privacy Team’s Value Proposition

Description: How are you developing the value proposition for privacy and compliance work for senior leaders at your company? What is new and different about it? What new decision mechanisms can you create to reduce swirl and move faster?

Privacy Executives Breakout Sessions

Breakout Session 1: How Agentic AI Will Change the Nature of Privacy and Data Protection

This session will explore the emerging implications of agentic AI—autonomous systems capable of independent decision-making—for privacy and data protection. As AI agents increasingly interact, negotiate, and transact with each other on behalf of users or organizations, traditional frameworks for consent, accountability, and data control face significant challenges. Participants will discuss how agentic AI disrupts established privacy norms, what legal and technical safeguards may be necessary, and how regulators and organizations can prepare for a future where agentic interactions are commonplace.

Breakout Session 2: Implementing Privacy-Enhancing Technologies

This session will focus on the implementation of privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) as a critical component of modern data protection strategies. As organizations seek to harness the value of data while complying with increasingly stringent privacy regulations, PETs—such as federated learning, differential privacy, secure multi-party computation, and homomorphic encryption—offer promising solutions. Participants will discuss real-world use cases, deployment challenges, and the evolving regulatory expectations around PET adoption.

Breakout Session 3: Toss the Mic: A Deep Dive into the Biggest Issues and Topics Facing Summit Attendees

In the morning our attendees “tossed the mic” to bring up hot topics and issues in data protection and privacy. This session will dive into the topics and issues our attendees noted at the start of the day.
