My mini split that produces a climate entity without an actual temperature value (the unit doesn't expose the measured actual temp it uses to try to meet the set temp). I have an actual temp sensor across the room with true room temperature.
Would like to have a temperature I set as target for the room - say 70f, and the virtual thermostat to manage the true temperature setting of the climate entity based on the actual room temp from the external sensor.
Example: desired target temp set to 70f, room actual sensor temp 62f, I would like the unit's physical target temp to be increased to close the gap, say by setting it to requested (70f) + difference (70f-62f = 8f) --> 78f.
Can I do this with Better Thermostat, or does it need a second reference temp reading from the unit to work as designed?
Thanks!
