Decoding of special characters in forms does not work correctly

I use micordot in micropython (v1.24.1) and have now finally switched to version 2.x. Unfortunately, the decoding of special characters such as “•” no longer works properly. If I use the code for parsing and decoding from version 1 in version 2 it works again.

If I use the current version 2, then “•” in request.form is decoded as follows:

{'dot': ['\xe2\x80\xa2']}

The result of print(request.form.get('dot')) is “â ¢”.

In version 1 it looks like this:

{'dot': ['\u2022']}

The result of print(request.form.get('dot')) is “•”.

I have not yet analyzed the exact cause.

Okay, I understand now. You are using an unreleased version of Microdot, which you copied from the main branch. This problem is caused by an optimization that I made recently, that I haven't officially released yet.

So this is definitely a bug, but you are only seeing it because you are using a work in progress version. To use the officially released version, download the code from the most recent official release here: https://github.com/miguelgrinberg/microdot/releases.

But in any case, thanks for reporting this issue, I'll make sure this is fixed before I make a new release.

Note: I have added a fix for this problem to the main branch. If you want to continue using the bleeding edge, this should work as before now.
