How to find premium request usage? #157693

Hi @DanBradbury, Great question about tracking your premium request usage as we approach the billing start dates! Based on the official GitHub documentation, here's how you can monitor your premium request usage: For Individual Users (Copilot Pro/Pro+)You can view your premium request usage through the GitHub UI:
This UI should be available by the time billing starts on May 8, 2025, for Copilot Free, Pro, and Pro+ users. For Organization Admins (Copilot Business/Enterprise)For organization-level monitoring, you can use the same UI approach as above, but you'll need to be an organization owner or billing manager. Additionally, there are REST API endpoints available for programmatic tracking:
These API endpoints provide aggregated metrics, though currently they don't appear to specifically break down premium request usage per individual user. The metrics include data for features that use premium requests, such as Copilot Chat and various models. Setting Spending LimitsTo prevent unexpected costs, you can set budget limits in your account settings once the feature becomes available (starting May 8 for individual plans). This will help manage your usage by triggering alerts at 75%, 90%, and 100% of your budget. Hope this helps with your workflow planning! As new monitoring features may be rolled out closer to the billing dates, I'd recommend checking the GitHub Copilot documentation for the most up-to-date information. Thanks, |

Hey, Just wanted to add that I'm on Copilot Pro and have made a bunch of chat completions and premium requests, but when I go to: Settings → Billing & Licensing → Usage by product → Copilot …it still says "No usage found". This is after May 8, so I was expecting something to show up by now. Is it still rolling out, or does usage only appear after certain thresholds? Would be great to know if others are seeing the same. Thanks! |

Same for me, I get absolutely no relevant stats when I log in and check the mentioned section. |

There is now the option to download a Usage Report for Copilot Premium Requests (for Enterprise accounts at least) at Enterprise > Billing and licensing > Usage. |

Does anybody know if it is possible to get this report if you are a user of an organization that grants you access to copilot? |

+1 for getting usage report as user of an organisation that’s not an admin/billing role +1 for any form of API call that we could hit daily based on {org}/{user-name}?{date-range} |

Hi Everyone, Thank you for your ongoing feedback regarding premium request usage tracking. We've been monitoring this thread and understand the frustration around the limited visibility into usage metrics. I want to address the key concerns raised:
We recognize that proper usage visibility is important now that premium request billing has been implemented. For now, the most reliable method remains downloading usage reports through your billing settings. Note that since our June 18th enforcement of premium request limits, we've been closely monitoring feedback across all channels. Thank you for your patience and for highlighting these important issues. Regards, |

The amount of comments I'm seeing from people at work complaining they've hit the entire months Copilot limits in less than a week is crazy. |

To find your premium request usage, you'll need to navigate to the specific platform or service you're using. For example, if you're using GitHub Copilot, you can view your premium request usage through the GitHub UI by going to your profile settings, then "Billing & Licensing", and then the "Copilot" tab. For Google Maps Platform Premium Plan, usage reports are available in the Google Cloud Console, under "Metrics". |

I echo the thread. Can you please expose a REST API endpoint to get premium request usage data? |

Based on how the release was worded, I thought the new API would allow us to create our own userlist of copilot usage
But I can't seem to find a way to get the premium request usage without me iterating through each of the users in the organization? https://github.blog/changelog/2025-09-30-premium-requests-analytics-page-is-now-generally-available/ |

With the announcement that premium requests will start to be charged starting next month what are the current plans to expose a users current usage? Possible that I've missed an announcement of a new API endpoint / expansion of the copilot billing endpoint
Would like to make sure my workflow doesn't blow up my premium requests :D
