I'd like to share that I faced this problem as well. Exactly the same lines in the idea.log: "Bad Credentials" after a redirect from GHE back to IDEA. UPD: Just noticed that the original issue doesn't look like related to GitHub Enterprise, while I'm trying to log in to my company's Enterprise GitHub account. From how the error looks like, there is not much of a difference, but I better mention it here. |

This issue usually happens when the GitHub Copilot plugin doesn’t correctly receive or persist the OAuth token after the browser login. The “Bad credentials” message in the IDE logs confirms that the authentication completed in the browser but didn’t make it back to the IDE. Common workarounds: Restart the IDE after logging in via the browser—it sometimes finalizes the token exchange. Clear Copilot cache/config in JetBrains (Help → Show Log in Explorer → delete .copilot or related cache folders) and try signing in again. Make sure your firewall or proxy isn’t blocking the localhost callback (127.0.0.1) that Copilot uses for OAuth. If using GitHub Enterprise, confirm that your IDE plugin version supports your Enterprise instance URL and OAuth configuration. If none of these work, this looks like a plugin-side OAuth handling issue, so reporting it with your logs (like you did) is the right approach. |
