include built-in json validator when merging changes in a .json file

As a github user, when I am in the merge editor working on a json file, I frequently want to accept both changes, which inevitably leaves invalid json (lack of a comma separating items in an array, comma after the last item in the array, etc). It would be helpful to automatically flag the json as valid/invalid in a visual way.
