In GitHub Projects → Roadmap view, it would be very valuable to support per-view configuration of which fields are visible, both:

• In the left-hand list (table portion of the roadmap)
• On the timeline items themselves

Currently, Roadmap views are useful for date alignment, but they surface very little contextual information unless each item is opened.

Requested behaviour

• Ability to add/remove custom fields as columns in the left-hand list (consistent with other project views)
• Ability to choose which fields are displayed directly on timeline items (e.g. status, owner, risk, dependency, priority)

Why this matters

• Enables roadmap reviews and planning without drilling into each item
• Reduces the need to create multiple similar views just to expose different metadata
• Makes Roadmap views practical for epic-level and cross-project planning

The attached screenshot from Notion’s Timeline view shows the expected behaviour:

• Fields can be configured per view
• Key metadata is visible at a glance, both in the list and on the timeline

This would significantly improve the usefulness of GitHub Projects Roadmap views for planning and stakeholder communication.
