I’m exploring Copilot Spaces for collaborative development and planning, and one limitation that stands out is that conversations are currently private to each user.
Even when a space is shared, each participant only sees their own chats. This means team members often end up asking the same questions repeatedly, duplicating context and effort.
I was hoping to use Copilot Spaces as a shared planning and design environment before creating PRs. For example:
• Add design docs, requirements, and references to a space
• Discuss approach and architecture with Copilot as a team
• Align on decisions and constraints
• Then ask Copilot to implement the solution
A shared conversation history visible to all space members would make this much more effective. It would:
• Reduce repeated questions
• Preserve design and decision context
• Improve onboarding for new contributors
• Support collaborative planning workflows
Ideally, spaces could support:
• Shared/team-visible conversations (optionally with private threads)
• Or “pinned” or “canonical” conversations for planning and decisions
Is shared conversation history on the roadmap for Copilot Spaces?
If not, is there a recommended way today to achieve collaborative planning and shared context with Copilot?
Thank you for considering this request.
