Hey! That's a known issue where the trial can terminate immediately if you previously used a Copilot Pro trial (even on a different org/account). Check your billing history (github.com/settings/billing/history) for any past trial. If you find none, contact GitHub Billing Support directly (https://support.github.com/contact/billing) with your account email and screenshots. They can manually reset it. |

If Copilot Pro trial is activated but showing as ended, you can try:
If the issue persists, it may be a temporary sync delay between billing and Copilot services. In that case, contacting GitHub Support would be the best option. Hope this helps! |

It sounds like you’re caught in a subscription loop—a known issue where the billing system registers the "intent" to start a trial but fails to sync the actual license to your account. This often happens if the system attempts a small authorization hold (usually $0 or $1) that your bank temporarily blocks, or if there is a "stale" cache in your account status from the previous Free plan limit. Since you have already captured screenshots of the confirmation, you have exactly what's needed for a quick manual fix.
Verify Email: Check Settings > Emails. If your primary email isn't verified (or needs re-verification), GitHub will often block premium trials from "sticking." The "Double-Start" Method: Go back to the Copilot subscription page. Sometimes, if the first attempt glitched, clicking "Get started with a trial" again will trigger a "Resume Setup" flow that finishes the activation.
Subject: Copilot Pro Trial Activation Mismatch – Account stuck on "Trial Ended" after confirmation Body: I am experiencing a billing/activation mismatch with GitHub Copilot. After hitting the Free plan limit, I successfully activated the 30-day Copilot Pro trial and received a confirmation message stating it was active. However, my account status has immediately reverted to "Trial Ended," and I am unable to access any Pro features. Current Account Behavior: Web Dashboard: Shows "Trial ended" and prompts for a paid plan. IDE (VS Code): Returns a "Subscription Ended" error despite the recent trial activation. Billing History: Shows the trial activation attempt but doesn't reflect the 30-day active window. What I have already tried: Signing out and back into both the GitHub website and VS Code. Checking for any pending authorization holds on my payment method (none found). Verifying that my primary email is confirmed. Desired Outcome: I have attached screenshots of the initial activation success and the subsequent "Trial ended" error for reference. Thank you for your help in resolving this sync issue. One more thing to check... |

Hey! Sorry to hear Copilot's not working despite payment. Here's what to check: Go to Settings > Copilot and confirm your subscription status. If it shows 'Past due' or 'Unpaid', there's likely an old invoice not covered by the . |

Question
Body
I am facing an issue with my GitHub Copilot subscription.
Previously, I reached the message limit on the free plan and was prompted to upgrade. I activated the 30-day Copilot Pro free trial, and I also received confirmation that the trial was active.
However, I am still unable to use Copilot features. In my settings, it now shows that my Copilot trial has ended and asks me to purchase a plan to continue. Because of this, I cannot access Copilot even though the trial should still be active.
This appears to be a subscription or activation mismatch.
Details:
• Free plan message limit reached → prompted to upgrade
• Activated 30-day Copilot Pro trial successfully
• Confirmation message showed trial is active
• But settings now show “trial has ended”
• Copilot features are not accessible
I have attached screenshots showing:
Trial activation confirmation

My current Copilot access screen

Please check my account subscription status and help restore access to the active trial.
