Issue headings no longer bolded #209235

This is likely due to a recent GitHub UI change rather than an issue with your account. GitHub sometimes updates the Issues layout, which can change how issue lists, spacing, and separators are displayed. What you can try If the change is making issue lists harder to read, you can report it through GitHub Community Discussions as product feedback and include a screenshot of the old and new layouts. |

I noticed this too. The issue titles no longer being bold makes the list noticeably harder to scan |

Hi @mirmaid, thank you for bringing this up. A number of users have noticed and expressed frustration over this recent visual adjustment where issue and pull request titles are rendered with normal font weight rather than bold text in list views. Current Technical ContextThis change stems from a recent platform-side CSS and design update deployed across GitHub's repository and issue tracker interfaces. The design revision aims to unify typography hierarchies and reduce visual noise across dense tables, but it has inadvertently introduced readability challenges—particularly when scanning long lists of issues or distinguishing unread/open items from surrounding metadata. Currently, GitHub's standard web interface does not provide a user-facing toggle or theme preference to restore previous typographic weights. Note I am an independent community contributor and not a member of GitHub staff. If a staff member or another contributor can provide insight into whether this is an intentional permanent design shift or a bug being evaluated, please feel free to correct or supplement this response. Workarounds & Mitigation StrategiesWhile waiting to see if GitHub adjusts the typography based on community feedback, you can use these temporary approaches to improve scannability:
