ESPHome Configuration?

ESPHome now supports the NRF52 series - with at least nominal ability to support the functionality developed in the codebase here - power consumption issues potentially aside, is there an easy way to either port the codebase as a custom component or distill out the relevant info to use the ESPHome stack? i.e. it seems like there is a decent amount of the codebase dedicated to features supported and maintained in ESPHome as well - would it be easy enough to make a yaml config to set up the gpio reference and relevant equations to use as filters to set up sensors?

As someone not super familiar with the process of setting up a build environment and instructions that may lack here and there in the Wiki (i.e. what specific version of the tools should be used for the current rev of the repo?? if you have the wrong version loaded by your studio code env, or miss how the workspace thing gets set up properly, all you see is errors), this could help others who arent coding friendly.
