Greenville is making music moves to bring more artists, bigger acts + new experiences to the heart of downtown.
Enter: A Music Project (AMP), the Peace Center’s plans to repurpose + renovate three existing buildings on its six-acre campus to make way for a music club, a listening room, a recording studio, and more.
The $36 million projects, set to break ground in February 2023, are part of a bigger strategic plan that’s been in the works for years: To build Greenville’s local music scene with a 10-venue arts and entertainment campus by 2030, a goal that will be met by 2024 if all goes as planned, including a hearing before the City’s Design Review Board on Thurs., Oct. 6.

Coach Music Factory
Dancing is encouraged at the historic Roe Coach Factory, which will become a three-tiered club with a patio, a second floor outdoor balcony + bars on each level. Get ready to enjoy acts from a broad range of genres to satisfy every type of music fan with 1,300 of your closest friends.
In addition to overlooking the Coach Music Factory’s indoor stage, the second-floor balcony also overlooks the TD Stage, increasing capacity + the tickets to be sold for acts performing there — which The Peace Center says will help bring even bigger names to Greenville’s music scene.

The Mockingbird
Located inside the historic Gullick and Markley buildings on Main Street, this will be an intimate listening room seating just 250 music fans. Listeners will have a chance to closely connect with artists in a casual setting. Think of this as Greenville’s own Bluebird Cafe, the famous Music City joint (hey, NASHtoday 👋).
Artist Dorm
Directly above The Mockingbird, a three-bedroom suite will be available to artists performing at any Peace Center venue. The space provides artists an escape from life on the road or a convenient place to crash before or after their performance.
The Studio
Right next to the Artist Dorm, a professional recording studio — managed and operated by the Peace Center — will be available for booking for local + visiting artists (and podcasters).
The Wyche Pavilion, Riverwalk + Gardens
The outdoor event space — famously located along the Reedy River — will get a face lift, including new floors and a new ceiling with fans. The changes aren’t just inside the structure: A garden-like setting, designed to compliment Falls Park, will surround the open-air venue and feature a riverwalk, natural foliage + subtle landscape lighting.
