As St Augustine wrote: sinful actions (“lapses”) soon become habit and “habit not resisted - becomes necessity”. Ancients had no illusions and they were better theologians and better Christians as well. | |

"If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves.." 1 John 1:8 yes holy men sin but Hebrews 10:26 has "go on" i.e., hanging on to sin as in 1 John 3:8 "Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil". | |
