Introducing Electra Cyber: Next-Generation Cyber Security Electra Megason recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement with RubyComm, which specializes in developing custom cybersecurity solutions. Under this agreement, the new Electra Cyber division has been established to bring Israeli companies the world’s most advanced protection for operational technology (OT) and critical infrastructure. Electra Cyber manager Akashya Elgan commented: “These OT systems and infrastructure are the beating heart of Israel, including hospitals, public institutions, industrial facilities, data centers, transportation, and power plants. Protecting them is not only a technological necessity, but a national responsibility of the highest order.” The innovative concept behind Electra Cyber involves integrating cybersecurity solutions within each facility’s command and control systems at every stage, from planning and construction to ongoing operations and maintenance. Based on groundbreaking technology, these smart solutions can identify and monitor threats in real time, providing comprehensive protection without compromising operational continuity. Crucially, Electra Cyber’s solutions are not limited to new buildings and in fact provide even greater added value to established facilities. The Electra Cyber team is able to effectively integrate solutions with existing systems, allowing companies to benefit from significant security upgrades, without requiring substantial changes to their current infrastructure. “This collaboration with RubyComm is a major strategic step,” said Nissim Palomo, Electra Megason CEO. “Electra Cyber reinforces our position as a technological pioneer and enables us to provide customers with a comprehensive solution to one of today’s most critical challenges: OT cybersecurity. We’re moving into a new era, where cybersecurity is an integral part of all facilities and infrastructure, throughout planning, construction, and operation.” #cybersecurity

How Yotam Segev scaled Cyera from 100 - 550 employees in under 2 years ⬇️ Cyera is currently one of the fastest-growing cybersecurity startups in the world, and in my latest conversation, he talks about everything it takes to operate at that speed, and why going slow can actually be riskier. A few takeaways: ➡️Lessons from scaling unnaturally fast As Cyera scaled from 100 to 550+ people in under two years, Yotam realized values like "smart, humble, hungry" were their most scalable asset. Carity around who thrives at your company enables more consistent decision-making at scale. In hindsight, Yotam realizes that going fast always has less friction than going slow. If you’re growing, things are easier. ➡️ The massive cyber security opportunity In cybersecurity, it’s not about how good your overall defenses are - it’s about your weakest link. A company can be averaging great security across the board, but one small vulnerability can still lead to a major breach. That’s what makes cyber such a huge opportunity for startups: security teams are constantly hunting for fast, best-in-class solutions to fix those gaps before it’s too late. Unlike some other industries, speed and quality really matter because CISOs know that waiting could mean getting hit. ➡️Interface design isn’t just for products—it’s for teams I asked Yotam what operational mistake he would avoid if he started over, and he pointed to the chaos that comes with scale (more people and less clarity). His fix: thinking of each team as having an “interface” with the rest of the company. Some teams, like sales, have simple metrics, timelines, and priorities. However, many don’t, and that leads to confusion. Defining how a team works, what it prioritizes, and how others should engage with it reduces friction and keeps everything moving smoothly. Cyata, a cybersecurity startup founded by experts from Unit 8200, Cellebrite, and Check Point, has come out of stealth mode with $8.5 million in seed funding, led by TLV Partners. The company is focused on solving a rising but often overlooked problem: AI agents running without proper supervision across company systems. As companies increasingly adopt AI to improve efficiency, a new kind of digital worker has emerged—task-driven agents, copilots, and chatbots. These AI tools can now perform actions like running code, accessing sensitive databases, making transactions, and starting automated workflows. However, unlike human employees or standard service accounts, these AI agents often operate outside existing identity and security systems. They usually lack proper controls, tracking, and accountability—creating new risks for organizations. Caveat: I'm not a cyber investor, but it's impossible to ignore what is going on in Israeli cybersecurity According to the new report by Startup Nation Central, while Israel cybersecurity companies only represent 7% of the total, they've attracted 38% of all venture capital raised in 2024. Another interesting stat: 40% of US investments in cybersecurity startups went to Israeli companies. The talent coming out of elite tech intelligence units, a global mindset from day 1 and a capital intensive growth model are key success factors. All of this has made Israeli cybersecurity startups a magnet for M&A - 11% of startups are acquired compared to 7% across the wider tech landscape. If you think about it, the need for cybersecurity products is only becoming greater and greater... I've added this landscape to my 2025 Israeli startup landscape collection on VC Cafe. At today’s Cyber Week TLV conference in Tel Aviv, one message stood out loud and clear: technical excellence alone is not enough. During the panel “Technical Minds, Human Skills: How Soft Skills Shape Security Outcomes,” Anat Orgad, Head of Guidance and Regulation at the Israel National Cyber Directorate (INCD), highlighted one of the most critical skills in modern cybersecurity leadership: “While countless soft skills are essential for success in the security domain, I chose to emphasize the critical capability of Complexity to Clarity. This skill is paramount because it requires us to effectively translate highly technical information into accessible, actionable insights for all organizational stakeholders, especially those in non-technical leadership and business roles. Ultimately, this ensures every part of the business fully grasps the risk and the necessary steps for mitigation.” In a world flooded with dashboards, alerts, and acronyms, the real superpower is making sure everyone in the organization truly understands what’s at stake — and what to do about it. Because if security insights stay locked in the server room… they’re not really securing much.
