  • When a buyer asks why our quote looks different from another exporter's, this is usually why. 1. Farm gate price What we pay for the fruit itself — this moves with season, yield, and quality grade. 2. Grading & sorting cost Every batch is hand-sorted before it's export-ready. Not all fruit that leaves the farm qualifies. 3. Packaging Export packaging isn't the same as local market packaging. It's built to survive weeks in transit, not a same-day sale. 4. Cold chain & logistics Refrigerated transport from farm to port, then port to ship. This isn't optional for pomegranates. 5. Freight & insurance Sea or air, plus insurance on the shipment. This is usually the largest single line item. 6. Documentation & compliance IEC, APEDA, phytosanitary certification, customs clearance — all of it has a cost attached. 7. Commission & margin The smallest layer, usually. Contrary to what buyers sometimes assume. Most price conversations start at layer one and stop there. The real number is all seven. What part of export pricing do buyers ask you about most?

  • India exported 72,011 metric tonnes of pomegranate last year. Worth $69 million. Here's exactly where it went. UAE topped the list. Bangladesh and Nepal followed close behind. Then the Netherlands and Saudi Arabia rounded out the top five. Two patterns stand out. The Middle East alone accounts for more than half of India's pomegranate export volume. Proximity and price both work in India's favor there — short transit time, fresh fruit on arrival. Europe is smaller in volume but a different kind of buyer — the Netherlands functions as a re-export hub into the wider EU market, which is worth understanding if you're evaluating India as a long-term source. For anyone sourcing pomegranate and only looking at one or two obvious markets, this data is worth a second look. The demand is more spread out than it first appears. We track numbers like this closely — sourcing decisions and quality standards get built around where the fruit is actually headed, not just where it's grown. Which of these markets would you want to know more about — Middle East, South Asia, or Europe?

  • Before a single pomegranate leaves our farm, it goes through three checks. Here's what that actually looks like. Size sorting .Not every fruit that looks export-ready is export-ready. We sort by diameter first — buyers specify a size range, and anything outside it gets set aside for local market. No exceptions, even if the fruit is good in every other way. Weight check.Size can be deceiving. Two fruits the same diameter can weigh differently depending on how dense the arils are inside. We weigh a sample from every batch. Lighter fruit usually means less juice content — that's a quality issue buyers notice immediately. Skin quality inspection. This is the slowest part, and the most important. Every fruit is checked by hand for skin colour, cracks, sun scarring, and early signs of fungus. One weak spot can affect the whole crate by the time it reaches its destination. We'd rather reject ten fruits at the farm than have one rejected at the port. Only what passes all three goes into export packing. Everything else goes to local market — nothing gets wasted, but not everything gets exported. This is the part of the export process nobody sees. It happens quietly, days before a shipment ever gets a tracking number. What part of the export process are you most curious about — grading, packing, or documentation?

  • India is the world's largest banana producer. Over 31 million metric tonnes every year. Yet most people outside India have never tasted an Indian banana. That is changing. And Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh are leading it. The global banana market runs on one variety — Cavendish. Grown in Ecuador and Philippines. Picked unripe. Shipped green. Ripened artificially in warehouses far from the farm. It travels well. It looks perfect on a shelf. But ask anyone who has eaten a Kelas or Grand Naine straight from an Indian farm — they will tell you the difference immediately. Why Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh lead: Jalgaon, Maharashtra — India's banana capital. Black cotton soil, semi-arid climate, warm days and cooler nights. The result is higher dry matter, better flavour, natural sweetness that artificially ripened Cavendish cannot match. Jalgaon alone contributes nearly 30% of India's total banana production. Krishna & Nellore, Andhra Pradesh — Fertile alluvial soil along the Krishna river delta. High sunshine hours. Consistent irrigation. Grand Naine bananas here meet international size and grade standards — increasingly finding buyers across the Middle East and Southeast Asia. What gives Indian bananas a global edge: Natural field ripening — not ethylene gas chambers. Higher Brix levels — more natural sugar, better taste. Variety diversity — Robusta, Grand Naine, Kelas, Nendran. Cost competitiveness — lower farmgate prices than Latin American suppliers. Where the opportunity is right now: 🇦🇪 Gulf — large Indian diaspora, strong familiar demand. 🇸🇬 Southeast Asia — growing appetite for premium tropical fruit. 🇬🇧 UK & Europe — ethnic retail actively sourcing Indian varieties. 🇧🇩 Bangladesh & Nepal — natural proximity, rising import demand. The honest challenge: Cold chain between farm and port still needs work. Shelf life during transit remains the biggest hurdle. Standardised grading — still inconsistent across suppliers. These are solvable problems. The exporters who solve them first will own this market. At R-Square Agro Exports — our roots are in pomegranate. But our eye is always on where Indian agri-exports are heading next. The world is not short of demand for Indian produce. It is short of exporters who show up with consistency, quality and transparency. That is the gap we are here to fill. R-Square Agro Exports Rooted in Quality. Growing Globally. 🇮🇳

  • 🙏 If you're new to exporting — this one's for you. When I started, nobody handed me a roadmap. No mentor. No family background in trade. Just me, a lot of questions, and a deep belief that Maharashtra's pomegranates deserve to be on tables in Dubai, London, and New York. So I figured it out. One shipment at a time. And today — through R-Square Export — we're proudly sending premium Bhagwa pomegranates to: 🇦🇪 UAE · 🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia · 🇶🇦 Qatar 🇬🇧 UK · 🇩🇪 Germany · 🇳🇱 Netherlands 🇺🇸 USA · 🇨🇦 Canada But the thing I wish most? That someone had sat with me early on and said — "Here's how it actually works." So let me be that person for you. 👇 We source directly from Solapur, Maharashtra. Why Solapur? Because the conditions here are almost unfair to the rest of the world — hot dry days, cool nights, low humidity, deep black soil. The result? A Bhagwa pomegranate with natural sweetness (15–18° Brix), deep red colour, long shelf life, and almost no chemical dependency. I visit the farms myself. Every. Single. Season. Because quality starts at the root — not at the packaging table. 📦 Here's the simple export process I follow: ✅ Source directly from Solapur farmers & FPOs ✅ Sort and grade every fruit by hand — only Grade A & Super A goes in the box ✅ Pre-cool to remove field heat before packing ✅ Get Phytosanitary Certificate, APEDA docs, lab test reports ready ✅ Ship via sea freight to Gulf & Europe, airfreight for USA/Canada ✅ Follow up with buyer after delivery — every time That's it. No secrets. No magic formula. Just process, consistency and quality fruit. 📍 To every new exporter reading this — You don't need a big setup to start. You don't need to have everything figured out. You need one good product, one trusted region, and the willingness to be honest about quality. Start with one Gulf country. Get that first shipment right. Learn from it. Then grow. Maharashtra's pomegranates are world-class. The world is waiting for them. All you have to do is begin. 🌍 #PomegranateExport #NewExporter #RSquareExport #MaharashtraFarms #SolapurPomegranate #BhagwaPomegranate #IndiaExports #AgriExport #FarmToWorld #ExportTips
