We signed an agreement with Bridgestone Corporation to develop tires and advance applications of them on our lunar rovers. As part of the agreement, ispace will install Bridgestone’s soft, elastic lunar rover tires on its prototypes and conduct ground-based evaluation and verification tests to assess the feasibility and business potential of future lunar surface technical demonstrations. Through these initiatives, both companies will assess the feasibility of the technologies and business opportunities on the lunar surface and aim for the practical application of these tires as early as 2029. Earlier this month, we welcomed Firefly Aerospace engineers to our HAKUTO-R Mission Control Center in Tokyo—bringing with them a meaningful and moving gift: a fragment of Firefly’s Alpha Flight 1, a mission that, like many early attempts, ended in challenge but paved the way to future success. On January 15, our landers launched side-by-side to the Moon on a SpaceX Falcon 9. As our RESILIENCE and their Blue Ghost traveled through space, we coordinated closely to avoid radio interference, a quiet but powerful symbol of mutual respect and cooperation. Their accompanying message reminded us: “These missions wouldn't be worth attempting if success were assured.” Thank you for the heartfelt gift and words of encouragement! Per aspera ad astra. 🌙 #ispace #FireflyAerospace #cislunareconomy #RESILIENCE #NQLQ
