The Good and Bad Headache during a job search One of the “good problems” in job searching is having multiple offers, which is happening a lot in Japan. But even good problems can turn into real headaches for everyone involved. ➡️ For candidates: It feels great to have options, but choosing the right one can be stressful. ➡️ For hiring companies: It becomes a race to win the candidate, sometimes leading to bidding wars. ➡️ For recruiters: It can be good or bad, depending on whether your candidate is exclusively represented by you or if you’re facing competition. I’ve seen this “offer auction” dynamic becoming more common these days and companies start throwing in sign-on bonuses, sudden salary increases, and extra benefits. While candidates are getting pressure from multiple sides, my advice is always the same: 1️⃣ Go back to your original motivation for job searching. What were you looking for: growth opportunities, work-life balance, a specific type of role or team culture? 2️⃣ Let those priorities guide your decision, not just the salary. A bigger paycheck may look attractive today, but I’ve seen many cases where candidates leave within 6-12 months because the role or company wasn’t the right fit. So, choose based on fit and long-term opportunity, not just short-term gain. #jobsearch #recruitmenttips

China’s 2025 robotic sector hiring soars 400% year-on-year Job postings in China’s humanoid robotics sector jumped 409% year over year in the first five months of 2025, reports TechNode, citing research by Chinese online staffing platform Zhaopin. It also found that the number of job seekers looking for jobs in this sector rose during the same period by 396%. Robotics algorithm engineers commanded the highest average monthly salary at USD 3,530. A professional in the humanoid robotics industry told a Yicai reporter that work in the field spans multiple disciplines — including mechanics, electronics, artificial intelligence and software — making interdisciplinary skills a key hiring criterion. “There’s a talent gap in core R&D roles such as algorithm engineers, mechanical R&D engineers and software developers,” the professional said.

China Work Permit Update | Feb 3, 2026 As of February 3, 2026, the China Expert Bureau has updated its system to fully enforce local “social average wage” benchmarks for Type A (High‑End Talent) and Type B (Foreign Professionals) work permits in key cities like Shanghai and Beijing. What’s changed? Salary thresholds for new A & B applications have increased significantly In Shanghai, this now means approx. RMB 74,600/month for Type A and RMB 49,700/month for Type B In Beijing, approx. Being the go-to person, the one others can always count on, can feel like a badge of honor.   One leader recently told me about the late nights, the endless hours, even falling ill. That finally became his red flag. He had gone far beyond his role: covering for colleagues, fixing every issue, ensuring nothing slipped through the cracks.   His dedication was unquestionable. His bosses were grateful. It fed into his high achieving drive and more importantly a perfectionist mindset to cover all grounds.    Yet what struck me most was his reflection: 𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴𝘯’𝘵 𝘨𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘨𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘨𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘳 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯.
