The usual proof employs the projection operator, which has an alternate characterisation as the solution operator to a variational problem, and so I see this proof as fundamentally shedding light on the relationship between the representation theorem and the variational problem directly. If any of the other proofs you mention give a new perspective on the result, I would be grateful if you could share them. | |
