$\begingroup$ H&K composes in the standard way. $ST(\vec{v})=S(T(\vec{v}))$. They do not cover applications, but I think that "real-world" applications have no place in a math book. $\endgroup$

$\begingroup$ @Jim I think Friedberg-Insel-Spence is the best LA book out there for a general class of math majors right now-it's the most balanced between rigor and applications and it probably covers the widest range of topics at this level.Still,I agree that I don't think The Great American LA Text has been written yet. $\endgroup$
