Serverfault is getting hit badly by spam - and one of the available mechanisms is to increase the flags users have available. I'm sure we can light the beacons and get help, but with one spammer posting up to six questions, we're going to run out of flags fast.

Could we have a moderator kick this up to the community team?

Seconded / I'd love to flag more. Commented Mar 25, 2025 at 3:32

For context for those unaware, SE has adjusted spam flag availability before during a previous spam wave. The adjustment was making the baseline flags available 100, and making the additional flags you have access to via reputation + helpful flag count 1000. The formula for the # of flags you'd have available with these changes in place was: 100 + ((helpful flag count - declined flag count) / 10) + (reputation / 2000) | Max: 1000 Commented Mar 25, 2025 at 3:58

On a recent night, I carefully flagged only questions to save flags, because answers don't take up the same homepage space as questions. Would be nice to not need to carefully avoid flagging obvious spam. Commented Mar 25, 2025 at 13:42
  • If it helps to justify this request, Can the max number of daily raised flags be increased? is a Super User meta question which resulted in an increase of the flag base flag limit to 100 on Super User at the start of Feb 2025. Commented Mar 29, 2025 at 8:46

I've gone ahead and set the flag limit to 100, same as on Superuser. We're still investigating other ways to address this problem, but hopefully this helps in the meantime!
