The intention was not to attract attention because something is inappropriate, but just to attract attention. It's a misuse of the flag feature and we don't have any tools for combating it. | |
| May 2, 2018 at 21:41 | comment | added | Draco18s no longer trusts SE | Speaking about flags doing nothing: I know that I've occasionally been in a chat room, had the site say "hey, review this flag" and I'll get an out of context message from some other chat. I look at it and go "I have no idea wtf this is" and click the ignore/skip button. That is, I see nothing in the message that seems to violate any sort of "be nice" rule, but don't know where its coming from either. Maybe there is something about it that's offensive, I just don't know. | |
