58We would have absolutely no bad feelings if everyone that could read this and vote on it opted out. You're not the folks we're worried about, at all.user50049– user500492018-05-10 13:33:27 +00:00Commented May 10, 2018 at 13:33

47I think it would be easier to manage on both sides, and more GDPR compliant, to have the opt-out as a profile setting.James– James2018-05-10 14:02:44 +00:00Commented May 10, 2018 at 14:02

2You should grandfather every account with, say, 1000+ rep and more than 2 years here.Theodore R. Smith– Theodore R. Smith2018-05-17 13:22:05 +00:00Commented May 17, 2018 at 13:22

2I signed up to an online newspaper subscription (and was quite happy) until I noticed the only way to cancel was to call them on the phone.... I cancelled on the spot. If they're capable of opening an account and taking payment automatically, they should be capable of closing an account automatically.Basic– Basic2018-05-23 16:05:35 +00:00Commented May 23, 2018 at 16:05

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. stack-overflow), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
