Oct 29, 2019 at 13:28 comment added jsarbour @CesarM This is inane. The point of a code of conduct is quite clearly to establish guidelines of how to act so the people might use SE sites without constant intervention from moderators. Making the policy "let's see how it goes" means exactly the opposite. If that is a policy you are happy enacting, you would probably be best off taking more time to write a better policy.
Oct 23, 2019 at 16:19 comment added divibisan @LinkBerest This is basically just a specific case of: "Don't be a jerk". You can avoid pronouns, just don't be a jerk about it.
Oct 23, 2019 at 16:01 comment added LinkBerest - SO sold our work This is my main objection to the FAQ as well (for similar reasons even as a Native English Speaker). The fact that it says both "you can avoid pronouns" and then "you cannot" is extremely confusing and I just do not trust this policy to be enforced with the guiding hand I used to see from moderators on this site (basically I don't trust SE to let the moderators be moderators on this issue)

You're not going to get suspended outright without a warning first, and on that warning you can get more information on what caused it / talk about specific instances instead of abstract concepts, which is a lot clearer for everyone involved.
Oct 23, 2019 at 10:02 comment added Raedwald "conspicuously avoiding" is conspicuous, by definition: it's obvious, easy to see, easy to notice. A writing style that is really "all over the place" will not be avoiding anything.
