May 6, 2020 at 7:09 comment added Momoro :( Sad to see you go..
Mar 18, 2020 at 20:13 comment added Bill W It is a sad day indeed when one of the top contributors has to take such action. Best wishes for a bright future.
Feb 22, 2020 at 13:26 comment added user310724 Monica, I have changed my mind about this - I now think you are right; a new QA session website is indeed the way to go; I will even move there any unanswered question of mine from Medical Sciences StackExchange for example; meta.stackexchange.com/questions/343860/…

Jan 29, 2020 at 20:23 comment added Eleeza the Other World Wizard We'll miss you, Monica. And Shog, Robert, Jon... I've been getting this strange increasing feeling of "oh no" on Stack Exchange lately...especially with all the firings and leavings and lack of reinstatings...If only there were a way to turn things around on here. If searching the internet for coding solutions has taught me anything, it's that there's always a solution to any problem. We just need to find it. For our communities.
Jan 28, 2020 at 21:32 comment added J.R. means 'Just Reinstate' Beneath the disengagement letter I posted a couple months ago, I think StoneyB summed it up perfectly: the corner bar seems to have been bought out by a national chain. It was nice working with you, @MC. Shalom.
Jan 28, 2020 at 12:02 comment added user152859 @Suvitruf there were comments posted from his account. And they don't seem automated or pre-written, but rather authentic.
Jan 28, 2020 at 11:50 comment added Suvitruf - Andrei Apanasik @Shadow9 I think, it wasn't him, who answered questions.
Jan 28, 2020 at 7:47 comment added aparente001 It was confusing, but in the end I decided to upvote this answer, because if Monica feels this is the best thing for her, then I'm glad she's come to what feels to her like a positive decision. However, I will miss her. As ever, she considerately posted her news here, to keep us informed (note, I am censoring myself from saying "keep us in the loop"). So, +1 on this post, and thank you, Monica, for showing us what moderation at its best looks and feels like.

Jan 27, 2020 at 20:12 comment added user152859 @canon promises so far, and replying to answers made by ordinary users, which is something Joel never did, as far as I can tell. And he suggested to meet with Aaron Hall, a very respected member of SO who can give very good ideas.
Jan 27, 2020 at 19:55 comment added John Omielan Thank you for everything you did, and tried to do, for the community. You've been an important and inspirational member, and I'm sorry it's come to you leaving. Good luck with your future endeavors. I'm confident you'll continue to make a huge positive difference wherever you go.
Jan 27, 2020 at 19:44 comment added Lamak @Shadow9 I think the new CEO started to make steps towards something different a while ago (and different doesn't seem to translate to good here)
Jan 27, 2020 at 18:54 comment added canon @Shadow9 For a while now I've been watching for action over promises. SE's actions have clearly been mounting in contempt. Has the CEO done something to give you hope... or are we talking about more promises?
Jan 27, 2020 at 17:49 comment added Ben Collins "they were being hobbled, forbidden to do what they do so well, forbidden to help us" - This is the part I understand the least. It comes across as contemptuous.
Jan 27, 2020 at 17:22 comment added Laf There should be a "Makes me sad" vote option. Feels wrong to upvote such an event, and down-voting is even worst ;(
Jan 27, 2020 at 17:02 comment added Monica Cellio @Shadow9 if the new CEO is interested in a discussion, he knows how to get in touch with me.
Jan 27, 2020 at 16:55 comment added Mari-Lou A Слава Україні I just saw another update. This is very very sad news. I hoped you would feel safe in Mi Yodeya. I hoped, slowly, you would be re-elected as mod. I hoped that someone else would leave… Be well, Monica. Do what is best for you. I wish you peace.
Jan 27, 2020 at 16:16 comment added rene Mod I've put the tissue box on the table. Shedding tears together might not accomplish a change but at least you're not crying alone. The Dutch province of Zeeland has this text on its coat of arms: luctor et emergo. I think they don't mind if I use that text to send you hope on a brighter future.
Jan 27, 2020 at 16:16 comment added user152859 The new CEO just started to make steps towards something... different. You don't have any faith in this? (I'm Shadow Wizard, sorry if the name is confusing - I chose that as a way to honor Shog.)
Jan 27, 2020 at 16:02 comment added April Salutes Monica C. I'm glad you stayed so you were there to welcome me on Writing.SE when I really needed it last winter/spring.
Jan 27, 2020 at 15:39 comment added Laf You are someone I enjoyed reading whenever I visited Meta.SE. I am usually someone who lets his emotions drive is actions, and reading posts written by you, and Shog, and Jon, and other well-respected members of SE, it made me realize that thinking before posting, and taking care of how you write things, are very important considerations. When the lawsuit thingy came up, I gave you some money for it, and never regretted it. Good luck in your hypothetical future projects on some hypothetical website. Rest assure, in spite of what was said about you by some people, you are a positive influence.
Jan 27, 2020 at 15:30 comment added yagmoth555 I just wanted to say thanks for your times, your impact was real, and I really undertsand the why of your decision. Take care.
