The questions so far have proved that there's significant confusion about the categories. (I think part of it is regional English, as my experience working for a major multinational firm has accustomed me to being asked to "please advice [sic]" when being asked to answer technical questions.)

Suggestion:

  1. Omit the type selector (advice, etc.)
  2. Replace it with a "I'm looking for [...]" selector, with options "an answer to a technical question", and "an opinion from a subject matter expert".
  3. (Optional) Recategorize everything asked so far into a regular Q&A, because the confusion has resulted in most "advice" questions to actually be proper Q&A.
