2 days ago comment added pilchard @Wicket almost seems like they just removed closures.

2 days ago comment added Wicket @MisterMiyagi, apparently, this is happening to questions closed for other reasons as well.
2 days ago comment added Tsyvarev I understand that as "Not all aspects, related to questions closing, will correctly be implemented in beta's initial release".
2 days ago comment added MisterMiyagi That's really not what I expected "The […] question closure will not be a part of the initial release" to mean...
2 days ago comment added PM 2Ring I just tested the answer box on @Tsyvarev's link. It works. :( stackoverflow.com/posts/79896986/timeline
2 days ago comment added Gimby I note the change in wording in the beta version. "MAY already have answers here". VS "This question already has answers here". May be a coincidence, but it does very much look like that a dupe closure has been morphed into a simple "look here as well" post linkage feature.
2 days ago comment added Tsyvarev @MisterMiyagi: Yes, it seems that beta allows to answer any closed question, not just duplicate. E.g. on that page beta.stackoverflow.com/questions/79896986/… it is clearly written "... not accepting new replies", but the answer box is still available.
2 days ago comment added MisterMiyagi I thought duplicates don't allow answers because they are closed, not because they are dupes. Does this apply to all closed questions?
2 days ago comment added SPArcheon @pilchard to be fair, I am just reading these posts and eating popcorn as I do. No plan to browse the meta
2 days ago comment added Andras Deak -- Слава Україні Perhaps the beta has a separate, buggy backend, on the same database.
2 days ago comment added Andras Deak -- Слава Україні How is this not checked on the server side? Link to prove question is a dupe despite the "may have an answer" typical-for-SO-Inc weasel wording stackoverflow.com/questions/79895043/…
2 days ago comment added pilchard Why are we all debugging this atrocity for the company? They rolled out a half-baked alpha that we all don't want and now we're doing their jobs for them making it half way usable.
2 days ago comment added SPArcheon I would love for this to be a bug, but part of me fears that you may have just discovered a new "feature" that they forgot announcing.
